PIONEER, headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, first appeared on the recycling scene in 1894. The family run business participated in recycling through two world wars and into the sixties. The true testament to the strength and durability of the company comes from the fact that during its 100 years of existence there have been only two owners since the original family sold it in 1962. The current owner initiated a program of sales growth and of acquisitions of strong, well-known, well established businesses to meet the continually changing demands of the recycling industry. Today, Pioneer Industries consists of four operating plants and five additional sales offices.
